Oh, one more book that slipped my mind from my end of year list, the Lord Baltimore books by Mike Mignola, Christopher Golden, and Ben Stenbeck. When this series started I freely admit I was really only reading it because Mike Mignola's name was attached. As the series (or series of mini-series, I suppose) has progressed, the stories have become stronger, darker, stranger, and continuously more violent. The most recent entry, "Baltimore: The Infernal Train" was an absolute killer thriller and served as an absolute reminder of why I've been sticking with the (pardon the pun) dark horse series.
